I like projects, making, fixing, learning about stuff. Much of it is just for fun. To that end we have the “Lab” an electronics shop and the “fab”, a workshop for wood and metal working and for putting things together.
Here’s the lab:
When most products today have a bluetooth enabled 8 bit microprocessor to flash an led, it’s fun to get a little more fundamental. We have meters and soldering stations and oscilloscopes and power supplies and signal generators, and bunches of parts courtesy of the thousands of Chinese e-Bay sellers. I’m inspired by Dave Jones (eevblog), Julian Illet and, of course, Big Clive. There is a solar plant that powers most of my LED lighting projects, but that’s a subject for another post.
The workshop:
Looking towards the milling machine, the bandsaw and the grinders. Space is tight, so the table saw is under the assembly table that’s poking into the corner of the picture.
Looking the other way:
We see the lathe and one of the benches. The rest of the space is consumed by as much shelving as possible and a bit more work surface.
My Youtube mentors for this area include AvE, Abom79, OxTool, Vintage Machinery and Tubalcain (Mrpete222). Also I try to watch everything from Keith Appleton, who is a Brit steam engine guy. Finally I’m trying to pick up a bit of Fusion 3D from Lars Christensen.
So stay tuned as the projects keep on coming!
